At the April ABWA meeting, Pam Santoro, President of the Crabapple Chapter of the ABWA (American Business Women’s Association) announced the 2012 Woman of the Year:  Linda Topp, an Enrollment Specialist for Digital Insurance.  Linda has been a valuable member of ABWA for over 2 years handling fundraising and basically supporting the membership whenever a need arose.   Linda Topp is a wonderful role model incorporating business skills and community responsibility at all times. 

We are all so proud of Linda Topp, our 2012 Woman of the Year.

 On April 17^th, PamSantoro, President of the Crabapple Chapter of the ABWA(American Business Women’s Association) announced their 2012 Business Associate of the Year award for Harry Norman Realtors highlighting their charitable work in the community with:  The Drake House, My House. Habitat For Humanity, Hosea Feeds the Hungry, and Make a Wish Foundation.  Pam had the pleasure of presenting Sherrie Reimherr, her Associate Broker at the Harry Norman Realtors – North Fulton Office, with the  award for the office.

ABWA Crabapple supports the Drake House, Every Woman Works, and Mary Hall Freedom House.  Our May 15^th meeting/shopping excursion will be held at the Drake Closet from 6PM to 8PM.

Jeffrey Plucker, author of The Sport of Selling, highlighted ”Sales Strength Training:  :  Strengthen Your Sales Approach”  with tips on selling our products, services, and ourselves when competing for business.

•  5 Steps to a Sale:  Greet, Qualify, Recommend, Close, Rehash. The most important of these is the greeting.  Remember to be excited, put your hand out, and smile.  Smiling is really important.

• Impulse Curve being where you want to start to close them at the height of the impulse, before the impulse goes down.  If you can’t close them then set them up for the next time. 
• Tracking/CRM, or Customer Relationship Management, to keep control of the details of your customers when developing your relationships.  Applying knowledge is power – using the data to better your business. 
•  For the 30-second Elevator Speech, say what you can do for your customer, for example, Jeff’s internet marketing firm:  “We generate leads for your business.”. 
•  Lastly were several Sales Tools were discussed such as Attitude, Feel Felt Found, and CPR create a personal relationship,
• Bullet Closing:  Where you give them one or two bullets (best price, fast service) and close them.  Let them give their objections, then give them one or two more bullets ( for example:  A rated, customer service).   Don’t fire all six bullets at once. 
• The final point was the Four F’s of Motivation:  Fame, Fortune, Family, Freedom.

  Overall a wonderful presentation which inspired us to take these skills and put them to use in our own businesses.
